Spend a day (June 7)  touring homes and gardens in southwestern Michigan during Heartland Alliance’s 15th annual Celebration of Home & Garden (tour begins at Lovell & Whyte, 14950 Lakeside Rd., Lakeside; call 312-660-1313). 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $100 in advance and $125 at the door. Many of the homes feature the handiwork of Chicago’s top designers and landscapers.

Minasian Textile Arts’ (1244 Chicago Ave., Evanston, 847-864-1010) spring exhibition, “The Amazing Diversity of Peasant Nomad Bag Faces” will feature over 100 antique tribal bags and bag faces from Persia, Afghanistan, Turkey, and the Caucasus mountains. The exhibition takes place from now through June 21.
