The Singles Bracket: Sweet 16
I'm choosing to ignore all Valentine's Day madness for something far more representative of my current milieu: a Chicago Singles' Sweet 16. Inspired by the basketball madness that is March, in the next few days, I will whittle down the best cultural events/spots for meeting a potential mate (Note: whether "mating" is just for the evening or for longer term is purposefully not specified, as it is usually indeterminable from first meeting).

yo, this is fun. here is my vote for the next round:
1. hyde park - cocktails and clay, sounds so very "ghost" like.
2. guitar class - who can resist strong hands?!
3. soccer - cause damn those men are fine.
4. hmmm, this next one is hard... i think i'm slightly more likely to meet a cooler guy pounding a pint than chomping a brunchy brat, but only slightly. if it had been a polish sausage, no contest. yum, sausage.
5. easy, pitchfork even though they might be younger and dirrrtier. occasionally, young and (not too) dirty is loads of fun. you know i'm right.
6. Intelligentsia. however, argo has better soy chai.
7. carol's. mainly cause i like beards and country shirts.
8. i pick the metro even though i've met some rather "hot" boys at the bottle. but, i think i'm kinda over boys now. thank god.
can't wait to see what wins.
i love me some CODA!

i'm too distracted by the frogs in love on the right to think about the top mate finding places on the left. however, i will add that although Carol's is cool 'n country, they have zero tolerance for gay people. i was there when a friend of mine and his bf were basically asked to leave. well, i guess it was more like the doorman saying, over and over and over: "This ain't no gay bar." i only have tolerance for beards (no pun intended) and country shirts if they have brains. so i say Marie's. oh, and Sport & Social soccer. niiice.
hmmm, i wonder if there are any elusive country shirts with brains out there? the last one i knew was named "booger". but, i think he puffed away too many brain cells and sadly became just another one of those guys that never gets their "shit" together. oh and fuck carol's for being homophobic.
Save Carol's!
